You Deserve a Smile That Functions Well and Feels Good

Achieving a Full, Healthy Smile with Restorative Dentistry Care

Think about the impact your smile has on your life right now.

When you look in the mirror or see yourself in pictures do you feel confident or embarrassed? Can you eat the foods you love or do you find yourself having trouble chewing? Are toothaches, teeth sensitivity, and gum pain something you consider normal?

If your smile negatively impacts your emotional or physical well-being, it’s time to make a change.

Everyone deserves decay-free teeth, a full bite, and optimal oral health that they can easily maintain. Poor oral health doesn’t just impede the function of your teeth – it can also harm your health by increasing risks of potentially fatal diseases.

By prioritizing your smile and pursuing a full mouth dental restoration or other restorative dentistry options with Dr. Alhadef, you can drastically improve your oral health and overall health, as well as boost your self-confidence.

Restorative Dentistry Options at Dallas Cosmetic Dental

Restorative dentistry is a field of dental care focused on helping patients regain the overall health and function of their smiles. It helps treat everything from extensive decay damage to severe gum disease and even TMJ disorder pain. The goal is to repair damage, replace missing teeth, and treat any infection or inflammation that might be present.

Dr. Alhadef provides complete restorative dental care, from the simplest tooth-colored filling up to full mouth reconstruction. When focusing on regaining pain-free function, his services can be divided into six main categories.

Full Mouth Restoration

When dental damage is extensive and affecting the entire mouth a full mouth restoration is necessary.

A full mouth restoration describes a complex treatment plan encompassing multiple individual procedures. For example, if you have a few missing teeth, active gum disease, and tooth decay, your full mouth reconstruction may include perio therapy for the gum disease, root canal therapy with dental crowns for decayed teeth, and dental implant surgery to replace missing teeth.

Dr. Alhadef can also provide full mouth reconstruction, which is a term usually saved for cases in which a person has lost or will lose most or all of their teeth. In these situations Dr. Alhadef may create a treatment plan for the removal of any remaining diseased teeth and the placement of implant-supported dentures.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are the best tooth replacement option available in modern dentistry. They are highly recommended because they mimic the function of natural teeth in a way other restorations can’t.

The implant itself is a post made of an advanced titanium material designed to integrate with the jawbone, fusing together much like a tooth’s root would. Atop the post is the abutment, a small foundation for dental crown which finishes the appearance of the prosthetic tooth.

Dr. Alhadef provides standard dental implants for replacing teeth individually and implant-supported dentures for replacing entire arches. Dental implants are a fantastic investment for anyone who wants as permanent of a solution as possible.

Dental Crowns

Dental crowns are one of the most popular restorative dentistry procedures. They are beautiful, versatile, and can save teeth that are damaged beyond what fillings can repair. Since dental crowns completely encompass a tooth, you can also change the cosmetic appearance of permanently discolored teeth or teeth that are misshapen.

Dr. Alhadef provides three different types of dental crowns, including Emax ceramic crowns, zirconia crowns, and same-day CEREC crowns. By providing more than one option he is able to meet the individual needs of his patients, including the durability they need in a crown and their budget.

After examining your tooth, Dr. Alhadef will go over the dental crowns he offers, their advantages, and which material is the ideal choice for your needs.

Dental Bridges

Replacing one or two missing teeth without invasive surgery is possible thanks to dental bridges.

While dental implant options are great, they aren’t the best choice for every person. For example, if you have a weakened immune system due to chronic illness or you have an uncontrolled medical condition, dental implant surgery may not be possible right now. Dental bridges allow you to get a beautiful, full smile quickly and easily.

Dr. Alhadef provides stunning and realistic-looking porcelain dental bridges for his patients.

Perio Therapy

Periodontal disease (gum disease) is a very serious oral disease. It’s the most common cause of tooth loss in adults and can result in destruction of gum tissue and even bone loss in the jaw.

Periodontal disease is treated through perio therapy, a type of treatment plan that focuses on removal of infected and dead tissue within the gum pockets. The teeth will also be cleaned of plaque build-up and other debris through a cleaning process called root scaling and planing.

Due to how common periodontal disease is, chances are if you suffer from tender or bleeding gums or wiggly teeth you probably have some level of gum disease. Dr. Alhadef will start you on regular perio therapy in addition to any other restorative care you may need to repair the damage your periodontal disease has caused.

Neuromuscular Care

Temporomandibular joint disorders or TMDs can leave you with chronic jaw pain, limited jaw mobility, and worn down teeth. The most common type of TMD is TMJ disorder, which specifically targets the jaw joint that hinges when you open your mouth.

TMJ disorders and other forms of TMDs can range from mildly uncomfortable to downright debilitating. It’s important that even if your jaw pain is minimal at the moment that you still seek help as the pain will eventually worsen.

Dr. Alhadef will evaluate your TMD symptoms, determine if your TMJ joint is the culprit, and begin to uncover what the underlying cause may be. In some cases the actual cause is unknown, but don’t worry, you can still get relief from your pain symptoms with neuromuscular care. He’ll provide you with a customized treatment plan that may include an orthotic to reposition your jaw and personalized physical therapy.
