Inlays & Onlays Dental

If you have rear teeth that have mild or moderate tooth decay, or if you have teeth that are fractured or cracked (but the damage isn’t severe enough for a dental crown), perhaps the answer to restoring your teeth is in dental inlays or onlays. Porcelain inlays and onlays are able to restore damaged teeth and are often used to replace metal fillings. They are securely bonded to your teeth and give you a more natural-looking smile.

Sometimes removing tooth decay effectively requires the removal of a portion of your tooth. The removed portion is replaced with a porcelain inlay or onlay. Dr. Alhadef’s CEREC technology allows him to place your inlay or onlay in a single visit. Dr. Alhadef customizes an inlay or onlay to fill the space left behind when the part of your tooth is removed. Traditionally, inlays and onlays were made out of metal, much like traditional filings. Now, porcelain-milled inlays and onlays are virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth and provide relief from chewing pain, cavity pain and tooth degeneration. Inlays and onlays are permanently bonded to the tooth, which adds structural integrity, while preventing bacteria from entering where cavities can form.

Additional Advantages

  • Unlike metal fillings, inlays and onlays will not expand or contract due to temperature changes caused by hot or cold foods.
  • By replacing metal fillings, a healthier and more natural-looking smile is acquired.
  • They can strengthen your teeth up to 75% more because of the way they are made.
  • Inlays and onlays are made to be the same color as your teeth and are therefore virtually invisible.

If you would like to learn more about how inlays and onlays can strengthen and improve your smile, and if you are in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex or surrounding areas, please contact Dr. Alhadef to schedule an initial cosmetic dentistry consultation.

First visit here after over 30 years with previous, recently retired Dentist. Very impressed with reception, Ann Marie Wiley as very professional Dental Tech, then with Dr. Alhadef Himself.
