Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are an excellent cosmetic dentistry solution for a wide range of aesthetic problems you may be experiencing with your teeth. If you are dissatisfied with the color of your teeth, or if you have chips, cracks, crookedness, or gaps in your teeth, this may be an ideal option.

Dental veneers are thin shells of ceramic material affixed to the front surfaces of your teeth. These are wonderful cosmetic dentistry options because they are custom-made and colored to create the exact smile you desire. When placed by an experienced cosmetic dentist like Dr. Alhadef, they are just as bright and beautiful as your natural teeth.

If wearing traditional orthodontics (braces) for years is not an option for you, consider veneers, which can create a beautiful, straight smile for you in just a few office visits.

Unlike dental crowns or dental bonding, which are usually only used on one or two teeth, dental veneers can be added to multiple upper and lower teeth. They are not false teeth; they are bonded to the front of your teeth, providing a dazzling, new, straight surface that can cover any chips, stains, breaks, or gaps you may have.

In the second appointment, your teeth will be prepared for the dental veneers. This involves removing a very small amount of enamel from the front sides of the teeth in order to prepare them to receive the dental veneers. This is done to make sure that the porcelain veneers fit seamlessly on your teeth and that they look completely natural.

After your teeth have been primed, a mold of your teeth is taken and sent to a pre-selected dental lab along with specific instructions on how to create your custom-made dental veneers. You will also be fitted with temporary porcelain veneers for you to wear while your custom-made veneers are being created.

At your final appointment, Dr. Alhadef will have your personalized porcelain veneers back from the lab. Placing porcelain veneers correctly takes both an artistic eye and scientific knowledge. Following years of experience and education, Dr. Alhadef possesses both of these criteria. With his master techniques, Dr. Alhadef will permanently bond your veneers to the front sides of your teeth.

If you would like to have a dazzling, Hollywood smile, this service may be the option for which you have been searching!

What are porcelain veneers?

Porcelain veneers are thin shells of dental ceramic that can be permanently bonded to the front surfaces of your upper or lower teeth. Porcelain is the material of choice for veneers because it perfectly matches the color, shape, and translucency of natural tooth tissue.

Do I need porcelain veneers?

Maybe. There are many different factors used to determine what the best cosmetic dentistry treatment is for your teeth.Cosmetic Dentist, Dr. Alhadef will evaluate your dental history, the current condition of your teeth, and, most importantly, what you would like to accomplish and the results you would like to see.

How are they made?

Porcelain veneers can be used for a variety of different purposes, including:

  • Changing the shape or size of your teeth
  • Whitening deep, permanently stained teeth
  • Covering chips or cracks in teeth
  • Straightening crooked or misaligned teeth
  • Filling gaps between teeth
  • Correcting teeth that have been worn down
How is the porcelain veneer procedure performed?

Receiving your porcelain veneers will usually take a few different appointments over the course of three or four weeks. During the first appointment, Dr. Alhadef will gently reshape the enamel on the front of the teeth receiving the veneers. This is done to make sure the porcelain veneers look natural and fit correctly on your teeth.

Then, Dr. Alhadef will take an impression of your teeth that will be sent to a master technician where your custom-made porcelain veneers will be created. After the impression has been taken, temporary veneers will be placed while your custom porcelain veneers are being created.

Once the custom porcelain veneers have been created and sent back to Dr. Alhadef, you will have another appointment. During this appointment, Dr. Alhadef will ensure that your porcelain veneers are perfect for you and he will skillfully and permanently bond them to your teeth.

Your new porcelain veneers will be colored to either perfectly match the rest of your natural tooth or they can be colored to improve your smile, making it dazzling white. Once they are bonded, your porcelain veneers require only simple maintenance and regular checkups to keep them looking wonderful for years to come.
