Tooth-Colored Fillings
Erase your cavity and protect your tooth.
In the past, having a cavity meant that you had to fill it with an unsightly metal filling. Today, cosmetic dentistry offers fillings that perfectly match the color of your teeth, providing you with an effective restoration that looks like it’s always been part of your smile. These versatile fillings are great on both front and back teeth and can restore nearly any cavity that metal fillings can treat. In addition to preserving your white smile, tooth-colored fillings cause less tooth sensitivity because they don’t conduct hot and cold temperatures as much as metal fillings do. They also require less removal of the tooth structure to bond properly. Metal fillings, however, require undercuts to help the metal grip the surface of your tooth, removing essential structure. With a metal filling, your tooth may be more prone to cracking in the future.
Whether you have a new cavity or an old amalgam filling, a tooth-colored filling is a durable, attractive option to preserve your natural teeth. Most often, these fillings are made from a composite resin. If the lifespan of your filling is a concern for you, tooth-colored fillings can also be made of porcelain. This material allows the filling to last you well over a decade—about 15 years or more with good oral hygiene.

Periodontal Therapy
Stop advanced gum disease in its tracks.
Fifty percent of Americans and 70% of those age 65 and older have some form of periodontal disease, often without even realizing it. Periodontal disease is chiefly responsible for adult tooth loss, bleeding gums, bad breath, and receding gums. But the truth is that it is easily preventable with proper home care and professional treatment. If diagnosed early, periodontal treatments are easier, less invasive, and more effective. Your visit with Dr. Alhadef includes a complete evaluation of your gums and supportive tissues, and you will have access to advanced periodontal therapy to heal and restore your oral health if needed.
Signs and Symptoms of Periodontal Disease:
- Bleeding gums
- Bad breath
- Receding gums
- Loose teeth
- Pus around teeth
- Minimal pain until advanced stages
Root Canal
Stop the pain at its source.
Damage to the nerve tissue inside of a tooth sometimes requires a root canal. Dr. Alhadef takes advantage of advances in technology and dental techniques that make root canals more effective and shorten chair time. Treatment involves removing the soft tissue, or pulp, within the tooth when it has become infected and inflamed. Dr. Alhadef gently removes this infected tissue and fills the void with a biocompatible material. He will then complete your restoration by placing a permanent crown.
Same Day and Aesthetic Dental Crowns
The perfect answer to protecting a damaged tooth.
A dental crown is a prosthetic tooth restoration that encompasses the damaged or decayed tooth to increase its strength and durability. At Dallas Cosmetic Dental, Dr. Alhadef has decades of experience and advanced certifications in making sure your dental crown blends in perfectly with your smile, no matter the location of the tooth.
Dr. Alhadef offers a variety of crowns depending on your exact needs. From same day e.max crowns to lab-created zirconia crowns and more, your dental team will carefully evaluate your situation and then discuss your options to protect your tooth.
Tooth Extractions
Your oral health is important.
In some cases, injury or decay damages a tooth extensively and an extraction is the proper treatment option to start you on the path toward complete dental health. At Dallas Cosmetic Dental, you will be in the best hands. Dr. Alhadef can remove your troublesome tooth and go over your restorative options in order to complete your beautiful smile once again.
Nightguards
Do you grind your teeth?
Many people who notice chips or cracks but don’t remember when the injuries occurred damaged their teeth while they were sleeping. Grinding or clenching your teeth during the night can cause your teeth to chip, crack, and even break. To keep you from seriously damaging your teeth, we recommend a dental appliance called a nightguard, which protects your teeth from grinding and clenching in your sleep. Dr. Alhadef takes great care in making sure you have a proper fit to prevent pain in your jaw joint. Do you also suffer from headaches? If so, you may find that a side benefit of your nightguard is headache prevention. Many headaches start during the night, caused by the extreme pressure generated as you grind and clench your teeth. Ask Dr. Alhadef about creating a custom nightguard for you.
Snoring & Sleep Apnea Appliances
Sleep better, feel better.
Oral snoring (or anti-snoring) appliances are corrective devices worn over the teeth during sleep to eliminate or curb snoring or sleep apnea. Snoring occurs due to partial airway blockage caused by the collapse of the soft throat tissue. When air passes through this partially blocked passage, the surrounding tissue vibrates, causing the snoring sound. A similar process occurs with obstructive sleep apnea. A snoring appliance pushes the jaw down and forward, preventing the tongue from rolling back and obstructing the air passage. It enlarges the airway for smoother inhalation and exhalation, keeping the airway unobstructed.
Medical professionals worldwide have designed a wide range of snoring appliances, utilized by millions to overcome their snoring. Some popular types of snoring appliances are tongue retaining devices, mandibular advancement devices, Thornton adjustable positioners, and palatal lifters. Prior to the invention of oral snoring appliances, medical practitioners used the continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) system to curb snoring in patients. This device looks like an oxygen mask and is highly successful in curbing snoring. However, the bulky physical attachments of these systems make them inconvenient to handle and use. Thus, oral snoring appliances are an improvement over CPAP machines in terms of their low cost and hidden placement. Oral snoring appliances are a more attractive option for many because of their ease of use, higher effectiveness in mild to moderate cases, and portability. The PX3 mouth guard, in particular, either alone or sometimes in combination with other treatments can eliminate snoring and provide an alternative solution for patients suffering with obstructive sleep apnea.
Dr. Alhadef will learn about your specific needs and discuss which option might be best for you.
PX3 Custom Mouth Guards
Protect your smile.
Whether you’re a professional athlete or you just play sports to stay fit, you’re always looking to improve your game. But training is only half the battle; you need the right tools to enhance your performance and to stay safe. Dr. Gary Alhadef is the only dentist in North Texas certified to help give you the competitive edge of PX3 Custom Mouthwear (sports mouth guards).
Athletes depend on their bodies to help deliver superb results. Using a PX3 mouthguard does more than simply protect your teeth; its specific design enhances skeletal, respiratory, and physiological performance. PX3’s 3D alignment technology restricts your jaw’s ability to slide out of its ideal position. The PX3 mouth guard effectively “locks” your jaw into place for maximum protection. Best of all, instead of restricting your breathing like most sports mouth guards, the PX3’s design actually opens airways for maximum airflow. The result: a more open airway for unobstructed breathing, enhanced stability and flexibility, and increased balance and strength.
This advanced technology is not the “boil-and-bite” mouth guard available in stores. In fact, you can’t even get a PX3 from your average dental professional. Only a select number of PX3-certified dentists can assess and fit your PX3. Dr. Gary Alhadef is one of only a few dozen dentists in North America with the advanced training and expertise to be PX3 certified and the only PX3-certified dentist in North Texas. Dr. Alhadef will find your proper bite by using a transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (or TENS) unit to relax the muscles. He can then locate where your bite is most relaxed and design a PX3 mouth guard custom fit for you.
