Have some summer fun in the sun!

With summer in full swing, it’s time to think up some fun things to do. And if you live in the Dallas, Texas, area, you’ve come to the right place. Dr. Alhadef and the team at Dallas Cosmetic Dental have some ideas of great things to do in the summer of 2021. After all, with the sun shining and the kids out of school, it’s time to get out and enjoy all the things summer has to offer.

Check out this list of 5 ideas to add to your bucket list for this summer. It’s time to get healthy spending time outdoors with your family.

1. Rock Climbing Adventures

Have you ever been rock climbing? If not, you might be missing out on what is sure to be a favorite activity. It just so happens that there are plenty of great places to try rock climbing in the Dallas area. If you want to give outdoor rock climbing a try, check out Lake Mineral Wells, which is just under two hours west of the Dallas area. It’s an excellent area for both camping and rock climbing.

If you’re looking for a less literal form of rock climbing, there are plenty of indoor options too. Do a quick Google search for “indoor rock climbing near me,” and you’ll be sure to get some great hits.

2. Day Trips Near Dallas

Let’s start by saying that there are so many things we love about the Park Cities. And with so many things to do in the Park Cities, you might be wondering why we suggest you get out of town. But the fact of the matter is exploring other places is good for the mind, body, and soul. So during the summer of 2021, why not take a day trip or two and explore nearby places that are new to you?

For example, Terrell is just 35 miles east of Dallas. This historic railroad town boasts impressive and lovely Victorian and Revival era homes. Be sure to visit the Terrell Heritage Museum, conveniently located inside the former Carnegie Library. While in the library, you can also enjoy WWII memorabilia from the No. 1 British Flying Training School.

If the idea of Terrell doesn’t float your boat, make the two-hour drive to Longview. In Longview, you’ll find many family-friendly activities including ziplining, trampoline parks, laser tag, theaters, and so much more. Depending on when you go, you might also be able to enjoy the Boat and RV Show and the Great Texas Balloon Race.

3. Foodies’ Delight

Dallas has become quite the foodie sensation in recent years, boasting thousands of restaurants. Try a new restaurant each weekend, then do the business a shout-out by leaving them a review (five stars if you enjoyed your experience) on their website, Yelp, or Facebook. The pandemic was tough on many of our restaurants, and positive word of mouth can help a restaurant get back on its feet.

Whether you are looking for fried chicken, cheese fries, chili, burgers, Tex-Mex, a steak, or anything else that might make your mouth water, you’ll be sure to find it in the Dallas area.

4. Teeth Whitening

Does it feel like this suggestion is out of place? We don’t think so. Summer is the perfect time to get in for a teeth whitening treatment. The best way to give your teeth a simple makeover, teeth whitening will leave you with a brighter smile, perfect for flashing to others while out and about in Dallas this summer.

If you have been online searching for dental veneers in Dallas, teeth whitening Dallas, or the best cosmetic dentist in Dallas, you can stop searching now. You’ve found us! Dr. Alhadef can help you determine if a teeth whitening procedure will give you the bright smile you’ve always dreamed of. And if teeth whitening alone won’t do it, dental veneers will be sure to do the trick instead. But, of course, teeth whitening doesn’t just have to be for you. Instead, consider teeth whitening as that extra “school shopping” gift that adds some excitement or flare to back-to-school days for your favorite student.

5. Wildlife Sanctuary

Since getting outside to enjoy the fresh air is one of the best things you can do this summer with your family, why not check out a wildlife sanctuary, especially if you are an animal lover? The Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary is a scenic wildlife sanctuary and natural science museum set on 289 acres in McKinney, Texas. Boasting 6.5 miles of nature trails, live animal exhibits, and a two-acre native plant garden, there’s plenty to do to keep you and your family interested and entertained for hours on end.

Keep your smile healthy this summer.

Though we already mentioned teeth whitening, we’d be remiss if we didn’t include a reminder to make your oral health a priority this summer. If you are overdue for a cleaning or require a particular dental treatment in the Park Cities area, then it’s time to make an appointment with Dr. Alhadef. Not only will we help you take care of your teeth, but we’ll be happy to offer you more ideas for your summer bucket list in Dallas, Texas.
